Ultimate Christmas Gifts For The Euro Car Guy

Posted on 29 November 2008 by Chris

Tis the season to scavenge through our favorite magazines and websites trying to determine what we want for Christmas. I’ve compiled some of my favorite gifts or dream gifts in the following list. If you have an idea please leave a comment at the bottom of this page!

Here are some ideas in no particular order:

  • Victory By Design Documentary Series- Alain De Cadenet host’s a series of 6 documentaries covering Porsche, Jaguar, Ferrari, Lotus, Alfa Romeo and Maserati. These DVD’s are absolutely top notch. You can by singles or the whole set!

  • Griot’s Garage Car Car Products- Griot’s offers the best in car waxes, polishes, tools, accessories and more.
  • Period Correct Items- I, like Most car guys enjoy having a couple of pieces of memorabilia to go along with my car. Find out what year the car is and search Ebay for items from the same year. Search terms can include, decal/stickers, badge, car magazine, sales literature, manuals, books, etc. Even an 8 track from that year would be an idea if the car has that type of player.
  • Ebay Gift Certificate- If you don’t know what to get him from Ebay. Simply let him decide! I’m always searching Ebay for something to do with my cars.
  • Subscription- I always look forward to a print magazine. Here are some good ones. Sports Car Market, Excellence (Porsche), Cavallino (Ferrari) and more.
  • Coco Mats- These mats give an awesome look to most European Classics. Check out their site.
  • Michael Jekot Fine Art- Mr Jekot, in my opinion, is one of the best automotive artists. He captures motoring and the lifestyle in a way that makes you want to be around your car.
  • Car Cover- If you’re favorite car is being left out int he weather you should protect it. Even indoor car covers are handy for the car guy. Once again Griot’s has a great selection.
  • Drivers Ed Events- Most car guys would love this gift. It is spendy however. Different enthusiast groups offer drivers ed events. You can search them on Google.
  • California Car Duster- A handy tool for quick dust-offs.
  • Laser Beam Park Guide- As a kid, My grandmothers garage wall had an indent with her license plate frame molded into the sheetrock! Never again! This is a handy tool to assist in consistent parking every time you put your toy away. No more bumper scuffs!
  • Complete Garage Products- Complete Garage was one of the innovators in garage organization. My dream is to have a complete garage makeover from Complete Garage.
  • Photo Shoot- Hire a professional photographer to shoot your car. It’s well worth it and you’ll have great memories you can hang on your bedroom wall!

Polar Fleece Vest: Great for early morning / chilly weather drives.
Driving Hat & Scarf: No self respecting Cabrio owner should be seen without the proper attire.

Are you trying to tell us something, brother? You could just come out and ask? I remember a skirfer that was a stealth gift ask once upon a time. How about a DVD from the same year/era as the car? Some great old Bond movies with classic cars.
