Projekt 914 Seats… Houndstooth Heaven! (Part 3)

Posted on 03 February 2009 by Chris

The biggest eyesore with the 914 was definitely the seats. The drivers bolsters were so far gone it was down to the frame in spots.

After looking through the original fabric options my dad decided there was no better choice than the Houndstooth inlay with original vinyl outer. You can see above the original fabric that came with the car looking super dirty.  We Chose D&L Interiors in Jacksonville, FL to do a seat resto. D&L did a great job at a very reasonable price. D&L’s # is 904 744 3311.

And here are the seats fresh from the upholster.

Here’s the nice rust-free pans waiting for the new people holders!

The 914 Seat Rails are easy to work with. My dad had them back in, in a matter of minutes! (I think he was excited…)

Now we need some black coco-mats!

Brad, What a spectacular change & improvement, can’t wait to see it in person. Now all that’s left is for you to drive off a few sets of tires,,, Porsche, more smiles to the miles!

Older Brother, How could I forget? The shortcut across Orin Johnson’s cornfield? The dirt and dust billowing through the, well, should we call them floorboards or lack there-of? You making me grab the rear bumper with my skateboard and “Skitch” a ride from Washington School to the Smith’s house. Oh The Studebaker Lark… You need another one.
