1963 Lotus F1 (junior)
Posted on 31 March 2009 by Chris
Recently uncovered from a long-term hiatus is this Lotus F1 pedal car from around 1963-ish. It’s very original and very cool. It’s in okay condition. I believe it’s missing the mirrors and headlight inserts. It does have all 4 knock-off’s on the wire wheels. It pedals and steers but is more of a showpiece and shouldn’t be ridden. My son was ready to put it through its paces but was not allowed to do so (he watched 1 too many Victory By Design episode’s)… It has some dents, dings and a little surface rust here and there. It looks great just about anywhere you park it and always attracts a crowd. Does anyone have any information or pics of what this would look like when new? It is for sale. Please inquire.

Hi Simon,
I’m thinking around $500.00US. I have never seen another for sale aside from the Ferrari version on Ebay around 1 year ago for $1200.00US.
Happy Motoring~

Well that’s interesting as I have the same little Lotus, and was looking for some more information about it too.
Mine is also a number 7 red F1 Lotus, but with slightly diffenrent wheels; the spider-web wheels, and still has the front grill. Mine is missing the two wing mirrors, they got bumped of easily I think. These were made by a company called MG (it’s on the steering wheel)in the early 60′s.
I found mine in an old barn in the South of France, and I believe these were made here in France by MG.
By the way, mine is for sale too. Feel free to contact me for more information.
