Sir Stirling Moss, known as one of the greatest Gran Prix drivers of all time, was injured at his home after falling out of his elevator. Find the full story HERE.
We at TMJ wish Sir Moss a speedy recovery. We were looking forward to hearing him speak at the Amelia Island Concours later this week.

I pulled a 13mm Sway Bar off of a 66 912. It was missing a drop link and all bushings needed to be replaced. I ordered all of the drop link bushings, two drop links and misc hardware from Easy Porsche which was very affordable and the guys there were very helpful with part #’s, [...] [...more]
If you’ve ever wondered how to safely pack wheels for shipping I recently came up with this approach.
Here’s what you’ll need:
I purchased 1″ Foam Pipe Insulation from the local hardware store. It took about 26 Feet total for the job. Around $15.00 worth should do it.
I got two perfectly sized boxes for 15×7″ wheels at [...] [...more]
The biggest eyesore with the 914 was definitely the seats. The drivers bolsters were so far gone it was down to the frame in spots.
After looking through the original fabric options my dad decided there was no better choice than the Houndstooth inlay with original vinyl outer. You can see above the original fabric that [...] [...more]
My good friend Dave was just about fed up with the inconsistent idle, backfiring, stalling & pronounced hesitation from his 40+ year old original Solex carbs on daily driven 1968, 912. After spending close to $900 on a pair of inefective rebuilds he was pointed towards 356 Carburetor Rescue in Arizona by his nephew, the [...] [...more]
First off, I take no liability for what happens to you or your wheels. This is just what I did.
I recently picked up a “Flat Six” Fuchs wheel off of a scrap car. I decided to use this as a test wheel for different refinishing theories I’ve come across for refinishing at home.
The wheel had [...] [...more]
If you have read some of my early entries you’d know that I’ve made it a point in the 90’s to never use a mechanic again. Unfortunately with life, business and my lack of knowledge on certain issues I’ve had to turn to a few since.
As the story goes; Upon purchasing my 69, 912, driving [...] [...more]
I was terrified. Flashbacks from my childhood haunted me. My mother would bundle us up for school in the early January winters in Minnesota. My brother insisted on riding his flippin Scorpion snowmobile. I was forced to put my brand new gloves over the carb intake so he could load it up with fuel and [...] [...more]
One of the funnest aspects of picking up a vintage car in its original condition is seeing how well it shines up. The 914 proved to be stubborn in the shine department. The pictures make it look a bit shinier than it really was.
The reality was it had some heavy oxidation on the paint. The [...] [...more]
Today I learned more about the fuel pumps on 912’s. On my friends 68, The nipple coming off the housing had somehow become loose and was leaking (wear the outgoing fuel line hooks on). I had an old housing sitting in my BOP (box of parts) so we replaced the pump, reassembled and it appears [...] [...more]
