We had an incredible time at the 2009 Amelia Concours. I strongly urge you to attend if you can!

It seemed like the cars just kept rolling in, one after another all afternoon. Soon the lawn appeared to be covered in Italian wildflowers as one Gentleman put it. Everything from early Giulietta’s to newer graduates and 164’s. Check out the pics and video!

A Vintage Alfa Romeo Montreal

Bart also has an incredible collection of vintage Alfa and Italian auto memorabilia. Everything from Painting’s to brochures to model cars are decorated throughout his entire home. It’s really something to view. I was trying to figure out how his wife let him get away with it? Thanks to the Alfa group and Bart for hosting such a great event. I’ll be there next year for sure! (And maybe have an Alfa by then!!!)

I am happy to announce our first annual Rally to Pocono for the Le Belle Macchine d’Italia gathering.  Don’t worry, if you cannot make the Rally you are still more than welcomed to join us in Pocono for the great weekend of events and track days.

I wanted to make sure we did this Rally top-notch, as you’ve come to expect, so I am pleased to have partnered with RallyRace, the leader with over 15 years of running rally events.  There are three starting points in the East all heading to Pocono, they are:

First off was the Saturday afternoon auction. Some awesome cars were being offered. Many at no reserve. Here’s an early 911 race car.

Sunday morning my co-pilot and 4 yr old son was wide awake at 6:30 excited for the day. The drive up to Amelia in our 1969 912 was foggy with a light mist this morning. It provided a great lighting for taking pics and video. Upon arrival to the entrance all of the automobiles to be shown were driving in. This is one of my favorite parts of the show because you actually see the car’s in motion. It’s very impressive. How often to you get to listen to a Ferrari GTB 4 Revving the engine?

The 14th Annual Amelia Island Concours D’Elegance showcased unique vintage cars from around the world. Proceeds from the event went to support Community Hospice of NE Florida and other well deserving charities on the First Coast.

We snapped alot of photo’s at the entrance to the fairway listening to the sound of these beauties as they roar by. The smell of of burnt race fuel filled the thick air as the Ford GT40 was making its way to the grass.

There were so many rare car’s it was hard to keep track of them all. Here are a few more coming through the entrance.

Fin and I were too excited to wait at the entrance any longer so we decided to make our way over the lush green grass and have a look at the concours. I can’t put into words what it’s like to step over the hill and look out onto this lush green fairway full of the worlds rarest automobiles. The concours is set up very orderly with each category having it’s own avenue of sorts. Signs point out what category you are vewing. First off we saw the vintage race cars.

The sun broke through the fog and mist just as we hit the Italian display (of course). Angels began singing from the heavens and… Somebody pinch me!

The owner of this Ferrari frantically show’s the judges its authenticity. I thought the car spoke fluently itself.

Mr Morse paid nearly $1,000,000.00 for the car in 2004. He is willing to return the car, he just wants to be reimburssed for it…
