Misspelling And The One (of many)That Got Away

A few months back I was searching for 356′s across the internet. I like searching craigslist in different cities throughout the US. Often, I try to think of the different way’s people will misspell keywords. For example; Porche, Porshe, Porscha, Ferarri, Lamborgini, Austen Healy, Austin Healy, etc.
To my surprise the Jacksonville craigslist had a Porsche 356c that had been misspelled as a Porche. I immediately called on the car. It had been in storage for 7 years. Prior to that it was driven regularly and even had new brakes as I recall. Overall the car looked to be in great condition with regular aging on the paint and slight interior wear. Minimal rust was present and it was easily drivable after a tune up. They represented the motor being strong and just needed to be freshened up from sitting. It also included dual webers that were mounted and the original carbs in a box. The seller owned the storage facility and was friends with the actual owner of the car. He said they would take $6500 for it.
Unfortunately, I was 3rd in line on the car. It went to a new owner in the Orlando area.
About 10 day’s later I was searching ebay for 356′s. Guess what was listed. The same car, same condition, same description, the title had not been transferred. The person who snagged it before me flipped it right away. The ebay Item # is 220207559910. I am unable to pull up the auction but it sold somewhere in the low $20′s!
